For Marla Sterling, writing is another passion in her life following several careers. She began as actor and director, and segued into teaching acting at CW Post, SUNY Purchase, and Westport Playhouse. With degrees from NYU in Education and an MFA from Manhattanville College in Creative Writing, she launched into storytelling, writing stories to order, and spent several years as the Director of Education for Shakespeare on the Sound. After teaching Language Arts at middle school, she turned to poetry and short fiction. Her work has been published in Plum Tree Tavern, ScribesMICRO, Connecticut Bards Poetry Anthology, The Ekphrastic Review, and elsewhere. She lives in Connecticut, where contact with the garden, woods, and beach invigorate and inspire her daily.
