Ira Rosofsky is the author of Nasty, Brutish, and Long: Adventures in Eldercare, which was a finalist for the Connecticut Book Award. It is an account of his work as a psychologist in eldercare facilities and caregiving to his frail, elderly parents—but with jokes. His writing has appeared in the NY Times, the LA Times, Salon, The Hill, and even Psychological Bulletin. He is currently working on a novel about murders in a nursing home—because write what you know. Along with his PhD from the University of Chicago, in his dotage he recently graduated with an MFA from Southern Connecticut University. He lives in New Haven, Connecticut with his wife and Jerry, the Dog. His children are scattered between Brooklyn, of course, and Lawrence, Kansas, because, why not?
